FIRST EVER UY CLAN GRAND REUNION

The October 18, 2009 Wedding of Michael Chan and Emily Ong became the occasion for the first ever grand reunion of the Uy Clan. The parents of Michael, Vice-Mayor & Mrs. Alfred Chan, graciously hosted the event and provided the clan with a five-star reception and accommodation. Approximately 40 members of the respected clan attended the historic gathering, the most senior of whom was Caridad Magaporo, the loving wife of the late Manuel Uy of Ubay, Bohol. The youngest participant was Shobee Mejica, the lovely daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Christopher Mejica of Bais City. During the executive meeting, the clan decided to hold the next grand reunion on the Saturday after the Holy Week of 2011 in Ubay, Bohol, the place of the clan's patriarch. Mr. Bebot Magaporo and Mr. Ernesto Uy were chosen as the clan's president and secretary/treasurer respectively.

CHAN-ONG NUPTIAL

Last October 18, 2009, Michael (the only son of Alfred and Amy Chan of Liloy) married Emily (the daughter of Edgar and Julieta Ong of Ozamis City). The wedding rites was held at the San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish Church in Ozamis City and was officiated by Rev. Fr. Alberto S. Uy, the uncle of the groom. Special guests included Governor Rolando Yebes, Congressman Cesar Jalosjos and other prominent politicians. What made the celebration more meaningful was the presence of the couple's relatives and friends who came from Cagayan de Oro, Bohol, Bais, Bacolod, Cebu, Maasin, and China.
